    Default New Beetle

came across this by accident but i had a sheet of stickyback black foam i bought from walmart on the tying desk... got out a pearlescent sheet & tossed it on the desk, went to git a drink... came back ti tie some scuds & shrimp & noticed that the foam had a greenish sheen to it like some beetles have on the shell so i changed to a dryfly hook... peeled the paper off the foam & stuch the pearlescent to it then cut a strip and tied a beetle... the strip i tied in upside down so when i folded it orer top the thing had a greenish shell... underbody is peacock herl... leggs are micro rubber leggs...

Well I'll be D....anged. Great one Ivan. I've got the shell back and the foam.
Too late to start tying tonight, but tomorrow, tomorrow....

    Thanks for the idea.
