A co-worker's daughter (Jenni) wanted fly-fishing lessons, in preparation for a vacation to Colorado where they plan to try fly-fishing for trout.

I'd been out fishing last night already...and caught another carp on my fly rod...HOORAY! Great fighter!

Anyway...By the time I arrived last night, it was pretty much dark, and then started to rain. We tuffed it out and fished anyway. I gave about 5-10 minutes of instructions/demonstrations (and caught a little bluegill), then Jenni gave it a shot. She did pretty well! Even caught a crappie and a couple of bluegills!!

Her boyfriend Scott had never fly-fished either, and took a couple of turns. He did good, too, and caught a couple of crappies!

Excellent pupils! We had a lot of fun fly-fishing in the dark! Probably not the best conditions to teach/learn under...but maybe they learned to feel the line instead of watch it? ;o)
