It will be my pleasure to host the swap for August. The theme for this month will be Foam. Any fly you might like to tie. Foam bodied, foam posts, poppers, anything with foam.

Standard rules apply: Toe Tags, stamped return box, etc..... Flies due on, or about August 31.

Foam is one of my favorite tying material's. I'll do a pattern from the archive's right here on FAOL , Al's Foam Hopper.

never tied a foam fly so I have NO idea what I'll come up with, but I'd like in been way to long since I have done a fly swap.

I'm tired of doing Chernobyle Ants (I tie them for a local shop). Can I do a Crease Fly?

How about something like this? It's a mini-Crease Fly, tied on a size #6 Streamer Hook, for bass and other freshwater fish. I did this one quickly, just now. I'll do the swap ones neater, if this pattern is OK with everyone.

Crease Fly (designed by Capt. Joe Blado)

Thread: 6/0 Kevlar. Color to match pattern.
Hook: long shank streamer, sz. 8 through 2/0
Tail: Bucktail, Marabou, Craft Fur, etc.
Body: 3mm foam, adhesive on one side. Foil.
Eyes: Stick-Ons
Details: Prismacolor Markers.
Final coating is with Sally Hansen's Super Gloss Hard-As-Nails (but let the Prismacolors dry real good first, or it will make them run) .

Originally a salt-water fly. Scaled down, it is deadly on Black, SM and White Bass and Stripers. The Crease Fly is not really a pattern, but a technique. Color it any way you want.

I color the inside of the mouth red, and I use regular Super-Glue. It works OK for me.
