Dang! I spent three years in NJ, even had a house beside a lake, and never found gills like those. Nice fish.

    Ron,
Where in Jersey did you live? I'm in southern Jersey.
The boat pictures are from Wilson Lake (Scotland Run) in Clayton and the shore pictures are from Daretown Lake in Salem County.

    f'n'f,
Any time, you can PM or email.

    texfly,
Nice fish, sometimes big, on light tackle......and your casting arm don't need IcyHot at the end of 4-6 hours.

    Jim -Great pictures. Thanks.

Yesterday I took my 7 ft 1 wt to a small brushy creek & caught 20/25 brookies & bows. I had not been using this rod much because I like a longer rod. However once I got used to the rod I had an enjoyable day and will be using that 1 wt more often.

Guess I will have to break down & buy a digital camera.

    Tim -

PLEASE !! Would much enjoy seeing some pics of your neck of the woods and the fishies you catch there.

    Jim -

Nice pics. I don't have a 1 wt but use my 3 wt just about any time the size of the flies, the water, and the wind conditions allow. Great way to play with the fishies, no matter how big or small.

    Jim,

I lived in Browns Mills outside Fort Dix. I was a Drill Sergeant there for 3 years back in the late 70's. The house I bought next to the lake had six murphy beds in the attic. At one time it had been a "Hunting Lodge" for some mob guy and the murphy beds were for his soldiers.

I was also told not to fish too deep in the small arm of the lake. No telling who you might snag. I guess it was a dumping ground for bodies.

I did fish the main body of the lake, but never got gills of that size.

In the winter, the town would clear snow off the lake and make a skating rink. I was a musher at the tiime and would hook up my 13 dogs to our sled and give the kids a ride around the lake. Great little community.
