I was given an Orvis 5/6 Rocky Mountain Large Arbor Fly Reel.The reel is green and the spool is gray colored. It's certainly not the new turbine model. I have a feeling it's an old or older model. Can anyone tell me anything about the reel?

It was the model before the current Turbine, as you probably surmised. I had the Rocky Mountain regular arbor that preceded even the one you have. OK for the money at that time, but not great. Had frequent problems with the drag knob and the finish was a painted one that scuffed very easily and resulted in unattractive marks all over the reel. The cartridge concept was a good, low cost approach to using multiple lines with the same reel.
I never owned your version, but suspected it was a better iteration of the concept. Good news is that it was British made and has Orvis standing behind it.

John: Am I reading the price correctly? It sold for $109. Gees, it's plastic.
