Default FAOL Christmas Poem revisited from last year. I'll start it

our own FAOL poem. Chip in if you want and lets have fun. A little Holiday Cheer is the intent.

Twas the day after Christmas and out in the stream the water so clear did glitter and gleam,

My Orvis was strung with precision and care for there lay a brownie deep in his lair...

I presented my fly right on target, no doubt,

But there was no fooling this wily old trout.....

Oh He took a look , there can be no doubt but he laughed at my offer that wily old scout . Thanks for the offer he said with a smile but I like my bugs with a little more style .
For God's sake, Don't Quote me! I'm Probably making this crap up!

Then I thought for a moment an M80 would work
But then I remembered I'm not that kind o' jerk

Wow what a task to at this festive time,
Searching for words that make sense and rhyme. But all the sharp members members here at this site: Will keep this thread going for more than one night.
Now back to the trout that was mentioned before: To poetic attempts I open the floor.

PS: No, No, Please remain seated.

So I ran back to my gear and started to rummage about
looking for just the right thing to fool that old trout

I grabbed what I needed and to the vice I did scramble
In hopes I could tie one as good as Al Campbell

I recalled some advice that has served me so well,
Something I learned once on FAOL...

I made my first cast, as light as you please.
And mended my line, while I held back a sneeze.

The old trout rose up slowly to my fine feathered hook, then turned with a swirl and gave me a look.

I threw something small, I threw something big
I even broke out, that old flying pig

From out of the deep I seen such a swirl,
My heart skipped a beat as my jaw hit the floor.
Boxes filled with flies tied with Beaver, maybe a Gnat? Maybe a Streamer?
