    Default Batson 7'6" 3wt

This is a package I put together for a customer whom is planning on teaching his 5yr old son how to fly fish in about a week. The rod is a Batson 7'6" 3wt 2pc with aluminum reel seat and rev half wells grip. Royal blue wraps with silver trim and all black hardware. Matched it up with one of the new Midwest Custom Fly Rods T6 reels and Waterproof fly box to get him started in this great sport.

Nice work as usual, Steve. The first rod I ever built was a 7-footer for my then 8-yr old son and the second was for his younger brother.

    Steve -

If that is an RX6, it is the same blank I built my first rod on about a year ago.

Somehow, your rod looks better than the one I built. Wonder why ??

    John

P.S. I would think that blank will prove an excellent choice for a small child's first fly rod.
    The fish are always right.
