I'm going to buy my nephew all the trappings next year for his 16 birthday to get him started flyfishing so I wanted to whet his appetite with a good book this year to get him started.

No videos or web links despite their value; I want him to read about it and have a reference and possible the beginnings of his own library.

I'm looking for suggestions that cover the basics and other species in addition to trout since he isn't picky about what he catches?
