THe information has been posted for awhile under the Michigan Fish-In 2009, but here it is anyway. BTW, some people have already arrived at Gates Lodge, so technically it has already begun. Jack Hise, Kaboom and Fat Bill are there for sure, and Mato Kuwapi is in one og the local campgrounds, just not sure which one, but will see her on Wednesday since we're going to Wakely Lake for gills and LMB in our tubes.

As usual, there is no admission fee. We just ask for a freewilloffering to defray the food costs on the 4th if you plan on breaking bread (my joke) with us. Drop ins, walk ins and flop ins are all welcome at any time. On Wednesday Jean will have the welcoming tent up at the entrance of the Lodge, so just stop by there and she will fill anyone in on the details of what's going on. I believe there is an "Eat-n-Greet" on Thursday afternoon/evening, so this is when you can see most of the people gathered in one place. Bring a snack to share and your own beverage. This will probably be in the Board Room above the garage. If you are new, just ask anyone in the fly shop and they will point you to the stairs across the driveway.

The 2009 Michigan Fish-In will be held from July 1st-July 8th. Gates' Au Sable Lodge will again be our hosts for this wonderful week of fun and friendship. Come join us and fish on the Holy Waters of the AuSable, one of the world's premiere trout rivers.
Our schedule this year will be similar to last year, with most days fully open for fishing. We hope to have a speaker one evening, to be announced nearer to the Fish-In.
On July 4th we will probably again hold our dinner, hosted by the Fish-In Committee. The menu will include [Burgers, Dogs and the trimmings to go with them] (this changed from the original notice). All food, condiments and dinnerware will be provided. Attendees only need to bring their drinks, a chair, and an appetite!
Donations to defray the cost of the dinner will be accepted, and any monies left over will be donated to the Anglers of the AuSable to assist in their legal battles to keep this wonderful river pristine.
July 4th will also be the date for our annual casting contests. This worked well last year so we were not competing with the holiday's aluminum hatch. The exact time of the contests will be posted later. The dinner and the casting contests makes for a great way to enjoy the holiday together.
Come enjoy a wonderful week (or even just one day!) with fellow FAOL members. We will post a more concrete schedule as we have the information. Here is the information from last year: Fish-In Michigan 2008. Photos too.
If you do plan on making it to the Michigan Fish-In 2009, drop us an email publisher@flyanglersonline.com and we'll put your name on the I'm Going List! Please designate MICHIGAN Fish-In. ~ Jean DeSavage
