I found this in the Fly Fishing 101 dead drift tech. It does not say anything about mending your line. Do you need to mend the line with this tech?






Cast your dry fly well upstream of a rising fish and let it drift with the current. Usually, as the fly moves downstream it is necessary to strip in excess line to keep line slack at a minimum. When a fish rises to the fly, set the hook immediately, and keep tension on the fish throughout the fight.
