Oh wow, up at 7:30, when I got to sleep at 2:30.

Was VERY surprised when we got there. The sunfish were abundant, it was cloudy overcast, and they were hitting the surface.
But it wasn't until about 20 minutes in we notice an odd amount of medium sized fish hitting the surface really hard.
We move a bit left, and see its a massive school of white perch! They must have been 12-18 inches each. They would run out from the deep and smack something on the surface, something very small, we couldn't even see it.
Also saw 2 carp, 1 about 10 inches, and one I thought was a a floating log.
So I took out my 7wt, and finally got to use it. Using a carp bugger, I end up catching a rainbow trout! How about that.

No matter what we threw or how we threw it, those perch would NOT bite.
What could they have been eating? We tried white and black buggers, foam hoppers, i even tried a 16 midge but nothing.
Then we went down and explored a small creek it feeds into. Not much water big enough for any catchable fish, but the water had a cool blue tint.

Then when we got tired, we fished our own creek, catching a few sunnies before retiring for the day.
