Yes, thanks for the article. Been patient since last April wanting to learn more from my post "Michigan Trout Flies" thanks Eric. Oh yea, Drakes are on the Mad fish late. Dennis
A very interesting article, anything on fly fishing history is my meat.
Only one quibble, Roy Christie is not English.
He was born in Ireland.
Donald, I should have known better. When I saw Roy tie in the Catskills he talked about his stream in Ireland. I think I've been laboring under this misconception since I read Roy's Article about the Carshalton Coctail, Admiral Nelson, etc. In the bio he talks about cleaning up South London's River Wandel. That must be where I made the leap that he lived in London. Thanks for clearing this up for me.
Dennis, sorry this took so long. I've had the information for awhile, but got sidetracked with various things. I gave a talk a few weeks back to the Northcoast Flyfishers club, and spent a lot of time putting a power point presentation together for that. It was for that talk that I was able to spend some time researching the patent, so it was a good thing in retrospect.
Gandolf, always good to hear from you. Thanks for the kind words. Hope all is well.
Eric
Eric,
Like Donald, I'm a history fan. I always appreciate the research you do in connection with your articles. I noticed you used Darrel Martin's Dictionary as a reference. I had the pleasure of spending a morning with him learning to make horsehair snoods. Great guy.
Thanks again for all the research you bring to the table.

Happiness is wading boots that never have a chance to dry out.
No problem Eric, well worth the wait. Now I need to tie a few to try out. Thanks LDV
