Thread: Fly fishing show in Charlotte & Atlanta on the same weekend

Default Fly fishing show in Charlotte & Atlanta on the same weekend

Is anybody on this board planning on attending either of the two shows on February 26th and or 27th. I understand the Atlanta show is geared more to the salt water crowd than the Charlotte show. If so, which one?

Charlotte! Will be there all day, both days and will be with a bunch of neer-do-wells tying and lying the evening between those days.

    Better Loops,

There is a heavy salt emphasis at the Atlanta show, but there are also some good warmwater and trout seminars. Dave Whitlock is usually there giving a bass class, and a few local trout experts do similar classes. There are also some very good casting instructors giving seminars.

I don't know much about the Charlotte show, but I thought it was rod-building only.

Shallow Water show is almost all salt water but still bad planning on somebody's part, no doubt. I will be in Charlotte.

Th Rod Building Show runs concurrently with the Flyfishing Show in Charlotte. Check the link above for more info.

I will be there. There are a lot of exhibits. Salt and Trout are high on the list. Dave Whitlock puts on a great seminar and fly tying exhibition. If nothing else it gives everybody a chance to get together. Also Bass Pro across the street is having it's fishing weekend sale and seminars during the same weekend. There are some Fly fishing stuff but nothing like the Bait Casting crowd.

    If we meet great.

The National Rod Builders Show takes place at the Charlotte Convention Center on February 26th and 27th. It's a separate show than the Fly Fishing Show, but both take place in the same hall and one ticket will get you admission to both shows and both sets of seminars. The Fly Fishing Show is, well, mostly fly fishing. The National Rod Builders Show concerns all types of rods and all types of fishing. It's the world's largest rod building event.

The Shallow Water Show in Atlanta is an excellent show. I know many who attend and most rave about it. Mostly saltwater, some fly, some cast and some spinning.

I've always wondered if they had fly shows in the south east. How much is admission?
