An elderly neighbor friend asked me to help him determine what prices to ask for several books he wants to sell. Where do I turn to find someone to provide such info?
Thanx,

Whether you think you can, or think you cannot, you're probably right.

I would check and see what the prices are running on Amazon for used copies of the books that you wish to know about. You may not find all of them there but you will be able to get a ballpark figure on many of the books. Also check and see what it would cost to buy the book from stores specializing in hard to find fishing and tying books. Good luck! 8T
Thanks 8T !!

Post the titles on here and see what pops up....
Google the titles and ISBN numbers, amazon should be one of the first listings and will give you a good idea of value, if however the book is rare it might not be on amazon and another site might have it which you should find through google.

I got price ranges on everything from Amazon et al. Am meeting with the gentleman this evening to see if he wants me to post for sale, and if so, at what prices. Stayed tuned and thanks again for the advice.

Also check to see if they are first editions--- that could affect the value, and/or if any have authors signatures. There are also a few titles that are out of print that could fetch big bucks.
And as gutbomb suggested, post up the titles here, and folks might be able to weigh in.
Good luck!

5-10-20 year old books dont go for full retail so the amazon or alibri used book rates are a good measure for prices
dont forget to include a few bucks for mailing expenses.
www.alibris.com is another site to prowl
Of course you can check out e-bay to see if any have been sold recently and what the price was.
