My arm felt like it fell off and the fish was netted when it rolled over on it side and offered no more resistance. While the fish was revived and did swim off, I'm not convinced that it survived the battle. I have landed carp on my 3 wt since, but never again on 6X. These days I much prefer one of the 7 wts as the weapon of choice and have an 8 wt available as well as a 10 wt for fishing larger fish in current.
They are all fun and while I would never tell anyone what to fish with, my own decision has been not to chase them with super light equipment any longer.
