Fished two different stretches of Henry's Fork this afternoon. Saw a fair number of salmonflies above Bear Gulch and just a few Golden Stones. Down below the Warm River confluence, there were no salmonflies, but there were a few Golden Stones. Ironically, I only caught one bow at Bear Gulch with JC's Salmonfly, and had lots of action with that fly below Warm River.

Got some decent pics as models for those interested in the fishies point of view. The first one didn't come out quite as well as expected for color. Note the absence of an egg sack on this one.

The color on this one is also disappointing - but note the egg sack ( at least that is what I am assuming it is ).

Finally, the fisher's view of the fly.

Other than size ( smaller ) and color, the Golden Stones can be distinquished from the salmonflies by their longer tails and shorter antennae. Remember this guy ??
