    Default Favorite fishing memory

After reading HnT post about fishing with his 4 year old son, got me thinking to my favorite fishing memory.

It has to be fishing with my son last year. He was only 3 at the time and we were fishing a pond that had perch and bass in it. He had been dying to go out, so much so that he put on his fishing vest and fishing hat and his big red boots. He was ready to go.

At the pond I would cast out the spinning rod with a rubber bait on it and let him reel it in. Next thing I know the rod is bending like crazy and I see that look that a three year old gets; the one that is between scared to death and utter excitement. I grabbed onto the rod so he would not lose it and he reeled in a 12 in bass all by himself. He was jumping up and down, and yes I wanted to as well. After several more bass just like that it was time to go back for dinner.

Then it happened, and I will never forget it. He hugged my leg and said "Thank you Daddy"

    Glad I had sunglassed on.

Payday is priceless. No matter what happens down the road that memory will sustain you through a lot of tough times. Write it down, make a scrapbook page, but make it permanent. Well done, well done...

Neat story. Brings back memories of my kids and me over the years. I agree with Kelly about writing them down. Jim

Default When one of the Grandson's was 6 years old....

He wanted to catch a fish.....
    ...and eat it.

A Boy, his dog, and his Bass.
This one was dinner. But many before, and many since are all catch and release.
Now, he's interested in Fly Fishing, at 8 years old.

    Default Sardis Lake Mississippi

Fishing, camping, swiming, and other good stuff with my son and his best friend. This was a couple of years ago. He is growing up so fast! Now he is thinking about girls instead of camping and fishing. I love him so much!
