Any Aussie Paddlers Out There

Hello all, An aussie friend is asking me for help getting outfitted with a personal watercraft. He mentioned a kayak and asked what kind I have. I explained that each person's needs are different and that his needs probably depended on the type of fishing he planned to do and where.
I don't know what types of personal watercraft are available in Australia, so it seems prudent to ask an aussie for help.
I sent them several links to kayaking information including some on choosing a kayak, but I have no idea if a kayak is the best choice for whatever they plan.
I will be sending them a link to FAOL and directing them to the Paddling forum.

Just saw this post - mate it is much the same stuff that is available and as far as I can tell the waters are similar so your advice to your friend would be relevant.
