Since the winter I have been trying to get my 8 year old son out with a fly rod. Winter in Ohio hung on much longer than normal and when it was not snowing or raining horizontal, the wind was blowing 30 mph.

I had Ian up to my folks place last weekend in IN. but it rained the whole weekend.

Everyone has to learn to fish in tough conditions but no one should try to learn the basics that way.

On the up side the big bluegills should be up near beds or just off them and much more willing to take a fly even if its slapped the water 50 times right before it

big willing bluegills, wading with my son for the first time and a nice ribeye steak flame kissed on natural charcoal. Not much more a guy can ask for.

Ian still owes the board a story about using the flies he was sent and has not forgotten.

have a great weekend everyone and tight lines to all you warmwater guys
