    Default Check out this Hump Head

    I've never caught one with such a pronounced humped head as this bluegill. His eye was huge as well. From what I have read it's an old male bluegill aka "stump knocker". He had a nasty scar on his side as well. Probably should have removed him but didn't.

    Fun catching, regardless...

    Looks like that old boy has survived a few battles. He didn't get that big by being a whimp or by being stupid.

    i have caught thousands of gill in my life and never seen one with a head like that one , cool fish and great picture

    Yep, that's a grandaddy bluegill all right. He deserves to head back out to the pond and warn the grandfry to stay away from that guy with the tasty looking flies
    If it swims and eats, it'll eat a fly.
