Has anyone purchased and used any of the new Mag chest pack models from William Joseph? If so, what is your opinion? I'm specifically looking to buy the "Current" model.

I sorta "like" mine... I really like William Joseph stuff in general... Tolerances are tight and I do not get everything I want in it... Probably my fault. I did grind the stacking nubs off my fly boxes and that makes life MUCH simpler. It was a challenge to get a box out.
3 surprise benefits:
1. Speed. They open and close in an instant.
2. The magnetic closure holds both flies by the hook while tying droppers.
3. Tippet doesn't snag on the non-zipper.
bd, thanks for that bit of salesmanship, just makes me want it more and sooner.

I looked at the Current but felt it was too wide for my tastes, so I got the Amp. I am surprised by how much it holds and how easy it is to get to everything due to the way the whole thing flips open. All my small items (UV light, splitshot dispenser, etc) fit within zippered compartments so nothing ever falls out. Larger items are pretty secure behind mesh pockets. Only complaint is the fly patch in the front is only good for small nymphs and midges, as flies with any more bulk than those will get mashed.
I was happy with my Fishpond San Juan, but it was showing signs of wear after two years and the magnetic closure system on the WJ really intrigued me. I have not been disappointed.
I think, therefore I fish.
