    Default New Birds

Me & the wife was cleaning vines around the side of the house & was fixina cut down an old dead 15ft high tree trunk... She saw a black bird what had a orange red beak land in the top... We watched till it flew off, wasnt but about a minute, then we noticed a big open mouth peeking out... I went got the ladder & climed up on the house & got as close as i could with the camera so heres 2 pictures... I think they are starlings...

Well, guess the old trunk gotta stay a while...

Very nice, a lucky break fo the babies. I have literally stumbled over two canada goose nests this spring. They very aggressive defending them.

your description sounds right for starling. Since moving to BC I've seen lots of new or at least "rare-ish" birds...the best so far was the covey of quail I saw the other morning while cycling to work. No quail in Newfoundland so they were a first for me

Say's phoebes. The nest was in a niche in a sandstone cliff, and made mostly of horsehair.
