Jeff
I have found some variations for you to try when
you get back to the tying bench.
These are a couple of Dark Bloas from Roberts Dictionary.
Dark Bloa 1
Hook - 14 to 16
Silk - Red-brown [dark claret]
Tail - [Optional] 2 black cock hackle fibres
Body - Tying silk.
Hackle - Dark feather from moorhen wing.
Dark Bloa 2 [Fogg]
Hook -14 to 16
Silk - Dark claret or brown
Body - Dark claret seal's fur
Hackle - Dark grey hackle from a jackdaws throat
or a black hen hackle.
Fogg believed the Broughtons Point and
the Dark Bloa were essentialy the same fly.
