    Jerry,

    I had not heard about Vern "The Voice" Gosdin's passing. He never got what he deserved. A great sound, he was.

    I remember him well. Man, I wish I could sing like that. I'm a better man having listened to him sing, and a lesser man knowing he's gone. May the Lord grant him comfort in his new digs.

    No one that I've heard lately.
    Nearly all music played these days discusses me. No melody, no hook just screaming monotone crap.

    I think it was 1984, my wife and I were camped on the Gallatin listening to a station out of Bozeman when they played "Set um up Joe". I thought to myself "this guy can sing".
