In short: "The size of the loop is determined by the distance the rod tip speeds up and stops at the end of the cast."

Gee, I wish all questions were this easy !
RC'ing,
tight loop,
that drives forward with speed, which can overcome the wind or increase distance cast.
STOP, the snap is at..... the forward stroke at 10 o'clock.
Big lolly pop loop
ideal for a heavy indicator,
Stop the forward stroke at 9 o'clock or even 7 o'clock
As you can see, its all about where you stop the forward stoke.
The same can be used for Spey type casts,

Same as a regular cast. Long stroke = big loop, short stroke = tight loop.
