After five or six fishing trips, I finally hooked up with a nice LMB this morning. It was a tad shy of two pounds and put up an excellent fight. I had been picking up the younger generation (half a pound to three quarters of a pound) here and there for about a week. Strangely enough, I haven't been running into any brim or other sunfish at all. Normally, at this time of year, brim are jumping all over my poppers and soft hackles but not this year. The lake is still down 5 feet, recovered from 23 feet in the early winter, and cold. I need to find myself a nice two or three acre farm pond and give up this big lake fishing. Hartwell in SC has great rewards but it sure can be tough and stingy with them some years. 8T
