Everyone,

I had the distinct pleasure and honor of being taught the basics of wet fly fishing by Davy Wotton at a clinic last weekend up in Connecticut, so it seems very appropriate to host a wet fly swap here on FAOL.

Pretty much anything that can be categorized as a wet fly is eligible, from sunken wets through to top emergers/semi-dries and soft-hackles. If you're looking for inspiration, try some of these:

If you can, let's limit to patterns/sizes suitable for trout.

I?d encourage anyone who has yet to try this method of fishing to give it a go, and what better way to do so than with this swap collection as a starter.

Here goes:
- Sign up deadline: 13th May (or whenever we get to 12)
- Flies deadline: 3rd June

Usual requirements on boxes, prepaid packaging etc. (see the sticky post on Fly Swaps for more details)
- Crushproof container, with name and address and online username
- Return packaging & postage (stamps, no metered mail)
- Toe tags on the flies with your name/username and pattern title

State your intention to join by posting here and I?ll send you a PM with my address. When I receive flies I'll post piccies to give everyone a taster of what they can expect.

I had to duck out of a number of swaps early this year due to personal commitments, so I hope that I can repay the flexibility of the other tyers then by executing an efficient swap here.
