what size single foot wire guides

I am going to be building rod for my buddies. One will be a 7 foot 3/4 weight the other will be an 8'6" 5/6 weight. They want to use single foot wire guides. What sizes should I use? Should I follow the chart for the sizes for snake guides or the chart for single foot guides? Why are the sizes differant in the charts?

The chart for the 8'6" says snake guides = 2 2 2 2 3 3 3 4 (12) and the sindle foot chart says 3 3 3 3 4 4 4 4 (12)

The chart for the 7' says snake guides = 1 1 1 1 2 2 3 3 (12) single foot = 2 2 2 3 3 4 4 (12)

I use the same as snake guides, ie; size 1 snake, size 1 single foot.

Your guide sizes are way to large, look at the guide sizes used on a Sage rod, there guide sizes are a big reason for the performance and feel of their rods. You're looking at what I put on my steelhead/salmon rods on your little rod.
Looking at some of the references here I'm wondering why the wire guides start out bigger than the stripper and your half way down the rod before the guide sizes are smaller than the stripper's ID.

I would go with the single food recommendation. I do find that the action of the rod, how the rod will be used, and the person using the rod should have some influence in guide size also. Without knowing the blank I would consider 1 1 1 2 2 3 4 12.
