    Default May Swap Theme

May's swap theme is hoppers/crickets or stimulator patterns.

Be artsy or stick to regular recognized patterns is you want. You can use foam for the hoppers or yarn/hair. Whatever. The only thing i ask is to tie something you would use in a real scenario.

PM me the pattern and I'll respond with my address to ship it to and post your selected pattern here. Thanks. If you have any questions, please ask.

Can I do a Black Deer Hair Cricket? The fly's history is at http://www.flyanglersonline.com/bb/s...ad.php?t=28184

Actually, I messed up. The wing is not Elk Hair, but Deer Body Hair. But it still works. It is basically an Elk-Hair Caddis tied in all black. The panfish all think it is a cricket.

Hook: #10 Cabelas Model 03, Dry Fly Hook 2X long.
    Thread: black 6/0 Unithread
    Body: black Superfine dubbing
Hackle: black Whiting Hen Neck, tied in by tip and palmered forward.
    Wing: Black Deer Body Hair

If it absolutely has to be a Hopper, then I can just change the colors to grasshopper ones.

    Semper angli.

Is this open to anyone or is it a continuing swap that already has tiers.

It is a continuing swap, but we do have one opening that was recently vacated. You interested in swapping once a month for the rest of the year?

    Default Tyers so far...

I've got Gigmaster, ben, JohnR, Ol'Blue and myself. You should all have a PM from me with my mailing address since I'm hosting. If jeffcpr is willing to join a monthly swap group I have no problem with him joining in, but I'll let Ol'Blue make that call since he's the over-all supervisor of this swap. Just let me know and I'll post information accordingly.

And Gig, the cricket is OK. I'll allow crickets as well since they're "kind of like hoppers." If anyone who I've already cleared wants to change to a cricket pattern, let me know and I'll edit that info. I'll add it to the main description.
