    Default Banty Boo, Ready to Fish It

    I started this thread by asking What Varnish. I've used Minwax Clear Gloss Polyurethane in both the wipe on and paint on. Well, I've finally finished the rod and I'm looking forward to fishing it. It turned out to be a 6'-2 piece-6 weight. Great for throwing big streamers in tight quarters and able to wrench bigger fish out of heavy cover. Also great for laying down some soft dries in less than 20'. I tried both 20' casts and 60' casts, and it works well for both. My rod building ability is less than what it used to be, but I'm still happy enough with the results to use this rod a lot. Here are some pics;

    I'm ready to catch anything I can on this rod, but I'd prefer a westslope native cutthroat from the St. Joe River in north Idaho.
    I'm happy now.
    Where you go is less important than how you take the steps.

    I like banties and am intrigued that they throw the same line shortened nearly 3 feet.
    cool rod. I suspect you'll love it.

    finish over the wraps look a bit spotty. you can rub that out should you choose.

    banties make for some right sweet smallstream rods.
