You got to be kidding. Seriously? Fish taco's? About as appetizing as a peanut butter covered pork chop along with a tin cup of hot lard.

    Fish Tacos YUM!

Standard fare in Baja. Southern California too.

Bluegill and Crappie make great fish tacos. Lightly battered and fried. Add a bit of finely shredded cabbage or lettuce, a light white sauce, a few drops of lime juice, some salsa and a bit of avocado and wrap in a soft corn tortilla. Or wrap in a flour tortilla for a burrito. Wash it down with some beer. I don't do well with fried stuff since I developed crohns disease, so I prefer my fish grilled. Hard to grill panfish unless they are fairly substantial in size but we do get some qualifying fish here in the 1-2 lb range.

I had my first fish taco a year and a half ago at the Paia Fish Market in Paia, Maui. That was the best tasting taco I have ever had. JC, if you are ever in Maui, give this place a try. You will love it!

Ok,,, first of all, there is no determinable difference between avocado and Irish Spring soap. None at all. To add the aroma of fish of any sort is an effrontery to the olfactory senses as well as the gut. Some things are best left 'un-fiddled with'. I like taco's. I know what a taco is. And stuffed with fish it ain't. I don't know what it is; but a taco it ain't.

    Smile Something fishy about this

There is a fast food chain, Taco Del Mar, that sells Fish Tacos, they advertise it like mad on their windows and such.

I hear they are great to eat.

But, somehow I have never gotten up the whatever to go buy one and try it.

"Tacos" in most of the US are not anything like those south of the border; if you go by meat dish distribution, Mexican and Central American food is heavy on fish.

Makes for a disconnect when someone says 'fish taco.' Ground fish, refried beans, cheese, lettuce and red salsa does NOT sound appetizing to me, either (YUK! that's nasty) ....BUT-- (no argument from me if you don't like to eat fish in the first place though!).

Perfectly seared cubes of fresh fish, topped with steamed fresh chopped green onions and chilis, on soft little tortillas, garnished with cilantro, a squirt of fresh squeezed lime juice and a dab of white sauce.....don't forget the fresh-made salsa verde (the green kind)

Forget Taco Bell. Fish tacos are heaven!

    Yum...Yum...Yum....

I have to admit that the first time that I heard about them 25 years ago while living in San Diego it sounded hidious to me. But I tried it like Mikey I liked it. Google fish taco recpies some time and you will probably find one that you like. That is if you like fish and Mexican style food.
