    Default Bluegill get together?

Anyone interested in a little bluegill get together in a month or so? I'm talking about somewhere in SE Kansas with canoe access and some primitive camping. I do have somewhere in mind, but would consider suggestions if someone has any.
There should be opportunity for bass, catfish and crappies, too, and possibly a trout, but that might be tough with a flyrod. I know Tim (tlerm) was interested.
    Sound like fun to anyone?

I'm interested. Don't know if I can make it though. I've already bought enough OOS fishing licenses this year...

I'm considering going out to the mined land wildlife area by West Mineral, KS. There isn't much there for amenities, but it should be fun to fish with canoes. It amounts to a bunch of old strip pit mines that W@P took over. There are hundreds of large and small lakes. We can set up camp wherever, canoes are allowed on all of the lakes, and no personal watercraft are allowed (jet skis). Motorized boats for fishing only. I think sometime in mid-May would be OK, but if things warm up, we might consider going out a bit earlier by a week or 2.

Sounds good to me. I don't have a canoe, but I do have a float tube.

    blue,
I love it, but my baby girl, Maggie, is getting married in July, so my plans this year are definitely "local" & "on the cheap".
Great idea.....let's hope it works for you folks this year & includes me for next year.

    FYI,

This is an aerial view of a portion of the area I would like to try out. There are lots of these lakes, with lots of fingers in them. This is 4 sections, number 20,21,22, and 23 on the KDWP brochure.

I have a canoe and a float tube. I'm sure we can all find time to hang out together on the lake. I can hold an extra angler or 2 in the boat if we need to.
