Struble U15 vs U15HG ?

Ok from looking at pics and decriptions, I really can't tell what the difference is. What I see is about $10 and the HG has those hook slots. Any differences in materials? Is the U15 better for the extra $10?

I have yet to start my Scott A2 6wt. I am looking for a saltwater seat for it. Another that I am considering is the REC RSLS.

Any other suggestions for a saltwater seat with a small butt?

the 15 will take a fighting butt, the 15HG will not

I've built rods with both. The main difference I can see is the U15 has a formed locking band and an o-ring between the lock rings. The HG has a round locking band with a cutout for the reel foot, delrin inserts in the lock rings and the hook keeper slots. Both seats hold the several reels I have used with equal and excellent snugness. I prefer the HG and it's less money.

The retainer on the 15 is slightly bigger than on the 15HG. The slip ring on the 15 is flared and is a regular cylinder shape on the 15HG. Lastly, the "O" ring on the 15 is rubber and the "O" ring between the locking nuts on the 15HG is Delrin.

Hope this helps. I always like to try new things, so my favorite is the 15HG.
