    OK we have established that I can build a Steel head, Salmon, river, bay, beach rod. What weight and Length do you recommend.

    I tend to enjoy a 9 foot rod and I like a 8 weight. If you have never causght a steelhead on a fly rod do not try it with anything under a 8 weight. They seem to fight harder then the salmon. Just my 2 cents
