Hey FOAL'ers thought id share a few flies with you guys and girls, these work good in Australia and i think most were designed here. Excuse my tying as its not the best, first time taking photos of my flies too. Any way here goes;

The Bag Fly

Hook; 10-8 1xHeavy, 1xLong
Thread; Black
Tail: Black Hen Hackle
Body: Gold Tinsel, ribbed with Gold wire
Throat: Red Hen/Cock Hackle
Wing: Hessian Bag, Black Cock Hackle, Orange Cock hackle

Tom Jones

Hook: 14-10 1-2xLong, wet fly hook
Thread: Black
Tail: Black Goat or Squirrel Tail
Body: Olive underfur of wallaby/kangaroo dubbing
Wings: Olive Wallaby/Kangaroo fur tied sparse.

Carrot Fly

Hook:12-14 Dry fly
Tag: Mirage or Pearl Mylar(Optional)
Thread: Fire Orange
Body: Orange Seal Fur or Substitute
Hackle: Oversized cheap webby Cock hackle can also use Hen(The softer the better I use Whiting Eurohackle)
Comments: If the colour of the fly spooks the fish try a red or claret version. I usually tie this fly on first before with a red tag dry 2 feet behind it.

Shaving Brush

Hook: 12-14 Dry Fly
Thread: Black
Tail: Black Hen
Body: Chocolate Brown Antron Dubbing
Rib: Copper wire
Wing: Dark Dun Deer hair tied forward then wrapped with thread a few times.
Comment: Great emerger fly much prefer using this fly than dun patterns, also good as a general attractor pattern. I tie it in many different colour combinations.
