    Default Crane Creek

A recent thread discussed Crane Creek in SW Missouri.
This is a pic from this months Missouri Conservationist magazine.
Its shows what typically you're up against fishing the small creek, brushy and overhung.

    Default I like it

Appears to be similar to a lot of streams I fish in North Carolina.

I agree they are challenging, but that makes them all the more fun to fish, in my opinion. I wouldn't want to fish streams that don't present casting difficulties. Makes you think about your approach and presentation and adds to the experience.
If all streams were easy to approach and easy to fish, I feel they would become too predictable and somewhat easy. Just a thought.

When you can arrange your affairs to go fishing, forget all the signs, homilies, advice and folklore. JUST GO.

I love to fish streams like that. I often use sidearm casts or cast with a trailing loop to keep the line down. The second casting style is one of the reasons why I prefer to wear a boony hat instead of a baseball cap, better ear protection.
If I could roll cast worth a darn, I would use that technique as well.
