Venice Italy?

Hey all,

I am going on a little trip to Italy and will be fairly busy but was wondering if there was any fishing in that area if I had a chance. I would hate to miss an opportunity.

Have been there about a dozen times. Everything espensive there.
There is lots to see. Would be surpised if you have time to fish.
Have seen locals with long...cane poles hooking little....12 inch fish

Don't drink the water....don't brush your teeth with.

Sea Food Pizza is my favorite. They will leave the shells on the
seafood pizza.

If you are going with a woman....you will be too busy siteseeing.

Is one of the most beautiful cities in the world.

Yes. The Veneto Region has [probably] the best fishing in Italy. There is opportunity for trout and grayling, including some marble trout, not terribly far from the city (1-2 hour drive, depending).

Acquiring a license to fish a public water is quite a hassle, and the process literally takes a couple days. You can always hire a guide, if you desire, to avoid the headache.

I will try to do as much as possible.

I will post if I find any fishing in the area even if it is not flyfishing.
