    Default Daimondback classic blank series

Does anyone have experience with these rods?

I have two rods I built on these blanks (7' 3/4 and 9' 4/5) some years ago. They are probably fished more than any other rods I have. They are not a fast action blank and if you want a cannon they are not for you but the slower action allows an easier open loop for use of multiple flies if desired. They work very well for fishing the small to medium rivers of West Michigan.
I can think of few acts more selfish than refusing a vaccination.

Jack Hise may be of help on this. Can you describe what you are looking for in a blank?

    Default Classic "Trout" vs. "Western"

The "Western" model, is the faster of the two. Think of the Western mod/fast graphite, which compares to a Loomis GL3 or a Rainshadow RX7. The trout model is more like fiberglass, not quite as slow, but on the more moderate side. If you want the modern fast blanks, these are not for you. If you want classic "slower" action, which seems to be the trend, then you will not be disappointed. (the western 5-weight is sold out)

For the record, I recommend non-fast and non-ultrafast for most people under normal fishing conditions, about 85-90% of the time. Not everyone agrees.

    Hope this helps.
