    Question Horse hair

Will horse hair work for flies? I'm thinking mane and tail hair might work for tails and body hair for dubbing, but I am not sure how it will fish.

    thanks in advance,

I use the tail and mane hair for legs and tails. I plan to use the body hair for dubbing but have problems getting ALL dubbing to stick on the thread.

I believe it is also used for woven fly bodies. See the advanced tying section of Al Cambell's tying lessons for instructions.

I would use the long tail and mane fibers for saltwater streamers, and the thick fibers for bodies on dries.
