Marco,
Could it be that in these hard economic times more people are forced to eat Spam because it is an affordable alternative to real meat. Not to suggest that Spam is not real or meat of some sort.

Actually Hormel Foods (HRL) at $32.80 is only about 25% off it's 52 week high of $42 (+-). And now being included in the S&P 500 index it's bound (?) to skyrocket.

Desparate times call for desparate measures, right?
What's cheaper by the pound, Spam or dog food? Of course, you'd have to go canned DF to get that rich, slimy mouthfeel of Spam.

A student of mine brought me back a Spam Single (vac-pac of one slice of Spam) from the Nat'l FFA conference last year. It has an expy date of Sept 16, 2010. I pinned it up in my class by its peg hole. I gross my students out by telling them I am going to eat it on Sept 15, 2010...cold, right in front of class.
Spam! It's not just for Hawaiians anymore. mmmmMMMMM Spamburgers on whole wheat bun (to make it more healthy)
