An official source who chooses to remain unnamed has indicated that a dread band of pirates descended upon Palmetto FL on 12 November, last.

At or about sunrise or 0800, which ever allowed them to sleep later, the scurvey band was reported seen entering a restaurant and demanding food in exchange for trinkets and baubles, namely, bits of paper and round pieces of metal with pictures stamped into them. Apparently bystanders and other customers were left standing and unharmed when the band of buccaneers swarmed out, well fueled with eggs, coffee, tea, grits, and other comestibles idigenous to the locale. No hostages were taken and the parting was mostly friendly, unlike last year's leave-taking when we had to drag Flats Dude away from the table lest he be cold-cocked with a syrup pitcher and brained with a spatula.

Mounting trusty steeds we rode out o'town cross the mouth of Tampa Bay to the Skyway Flats. As we topped out on the bridge we saw many small craft, none worth pursuing or sacking, and clouds of birds feeding on chum. A pelican or two staggered aloft, bill full of local fare.

We reached our selected pillaging area, strung up, and set off in smaller parties to harvest the Gulf's bounty. The weather was fair, the wind at our backs at 15-20, native fauna and flora abounded. No hostile species dared show fin or snout.

We spent much time in fishing and fellowship as the sun tracked westward. Some time after the noonday fix we began to hunger for rum and futher tucker. So with much gusto we stormed back across the bay to a quaint bayside inn where we did drink our fill o' various libations and consume lots of seafood.

Of course, the anonymous source's word must be taken as to the veracity of this alleged secret meeting of pirates bold. On the other hand, such tale may be only the result o' too much rum and imagination.

I can not actually verify that Harold and the fair Sue, Fl Ski Bum, SaltydancingDave, and Cap'n Yid were truly spotted ashore.
