Roddy Built Spincast rod (not FF)

I have an older "Roddybuilt" spincast rod, 6'6" 2 piece, brown fiberglass. Has a unique spring loaded offset reel seat, like used with closed face spincast reels. Can any of you tell me anything about this rod? Age, is the company still in business? Etc.. Thanks for whatever you know, guys.

I looked around for a while and din't find much on them so I'm thinking they're rare.

I cast around a bit and didn't find much either. The rod you found is much like it, only appears to be a later model. I think the manufacturer may be way gone. thanks for the info & interest, MM...............ModocDan

My first fly rod was a Roddy. That was in the fifties to sixties. I begged my parents for a Fly Rod as I wanted to Fly Fish like my hero Gaddabout Gaddis on TV. I used that rod for many years.

They were a very popular brand in those years. As one of the earlier Japanese imports they provided a good quality at a low price. Not sure what happened to the company they went out of business years ago. I haven't seen one in a long time.
