Right now I am watching the TV Show "North To Alaska", with Larry Csonka, and I have heard many fishing words, like "Big Fish!"
I am not going to repeat every word they said. I want to hear from you what your favorite exclamations are?

Enjoying the joys of others and suffering with them- these are the best guides for man. A.E.
Used to go with a guide whose standard reply to ...
How's fishin...was
"About average".
"We don't measure brook trout in inches, we measure 'em in pounds"
(as I explained to some visitors at the registration desk on our homewaters).

Aw jeeze,,, nice home page. Way to go fcch!
My wife noticed that most of the time when a large fish was caught and presented to the camera the anglers usually talked long and hard about its size and weight. On the other hand when a very small fish was brought to net, all they could come up with was "purty little fish!"

I seem way to partial to "long distance release". I've about wore that phrase out.
I can think of few acts more selfish than refusing a vaccination.
I met Csonka at the Reno airport several years ago, just a year or so after he took over the TV show from Buktus. I was standing in a line of 2 people when he walked up and dumped a couple of duffel bags. I turned around looked at him and knew I should know who he was, but it didn't come immediately. I turned back around and ask "Are you Dick Buktus?"
He replied "Diplomacy isn't your long suite is it?" He turned out to be a pretty nice guy, I remembered that he had his last training camp in my home town just south of Memphis. Playing for the Memphis Grizzlies, USFL.
Want to hear God laugh? Tell him Your plans!!!
Two that I've heard a guide use: "window shopper" when you get a refusal and "couldn't wrap his arms around it" when they're too small to take the fly down.

reminds me of last year---a tarpon that tilts up and studies the fly but refuses---"A LEANER"
