Default Mustad Signature hooks bends: round vs. sproat

Now that the board is thinking about the new Mustad Signature hooks, perhaps someone could explain to me the relative advantages and disadvantages of the round (well, almost round) bend of the R70 and the sproat bend of the S70 for wet flies. Is it all just personal preference because different people like the way the different hooks look, or is there a specific functional reason to prefer one over the other?

To be quite honest, over the years, having read many strongly held opinions on the various hook bends, I am still not convinced by the arguments.
I think that a hook supplied by a reputable manufacturer will fill the bill.
Lengyh etc., is dependant on the fly.
Here is some advice from Skues for nymph hooks,
    updated by myself.

    Wink

Wouldn't it be easier to get a bead on over a round bend?

    "sneck bend" yessss.

You can find a piece of literature that supports every bend made.
