Makes you almost proud to be Canadian -- but thanks for posting Deb -- great info -- I believe a Canadian mining interest was involved in proposed Montana mining project some years ago on the Blackfoot River system (the river that ran through Norman Maclean's book) -- and also Canadian interests were in on Colorado mining scheme known as Summitville, Col. high altitude mine that ended up polluting river systems all the way to Rio Grande (killing the Alamosa River) and ended up costing US taxpayers over $150 million in cleanup -- all through the use of cyanide in gold mining -- and the resulting cyanide heap leach devastation is global -- I recommend My Story As Told By Water by David James Duncan (author of The River Why) for more insight into such things -- especially the fight to save or preserve rivers -- and how out dated mining laws allowed such threats to entire ecosystems
"No matter how complicated life can get -- remember life is sometimes like fly fishing; after turning over every rock in the river trying to "match the hatch", you have probably spooked every fish for miles -- so don't let the "little things" BUG you -- just enjoy whatever you find." Mike Ormsby
