Default Getting ready for a new season

As many of us are getting ready for the new 2005 season (some lucky dawgs simply change licenses and fish right through the winter), some of us are wondering about taking courses.

Don't forget, a nice course to have is your basic first aid, CPR or other such course.

For those who already had CPR training, the methods in Canada changed very slightly a couple years ago, so a refresher course would be handy.

    Just an idea anyway ...

PS, don't forget to restock the first aid kits as they sometimes get depleted abit over a season

No more mouth to mouth. New classes are calling for chest compressions only. I was also trained on the A.E.D. (automatic electronic defibrilator). For folks with heart problems they are mighty handy to have around.

For those others who have bee allergies. Now is the time to get the new epi pen.

    Eric,
    No more mouth to mouth.
Ooops, didn't know that, I guess I really do need the refresher course.

    Thanx

I was ready for the 2005 season on Jan. 1 with a trip to Wal-Mart to get my licenses. It's good to live in the south!

    No more mouth to mouth???

Nighthawk, who was certifying your first aid course?
I just finished on with St John's (on Feb 17th) and they still are for m2m. The defib training is cool, but not part of standard firstaid and level C CPR here.

***65 days till trout season starts here.
Of course still a good time left for a first steelhead.

    Cheers,
    Paul

    Paul,

I had heard about the no m2m, but didn't think it was taught like that.

Could be a North/south of border thing.
