And why would they stop making it? Probably because it did what the manufactuer said it would, was built with quality in this country (or yours) and once you sold one to everyone sales would dry up. It's only when you lost the one you had would you need another and guess what, too late!

When I was young, if I saw something I really liked I bought it because I wanted it RIGHT NOW.
When I got a bit older I learned to buy something I really liked pretty soon, because either they were going to stop making it or the store in which I saw it was going to stop selling it. Both happened with some regularity.
Now, when I see something I really like, I have to buy it on the spot because I know I'll never be able to remember where I saw it.
