    Default Ohio Steelheader

This was yesterday with my friend Ken and his ten year old son, Ed. Ed just started steelheading with us last year with spinning gear and late last year graduated to the flyrod. Yesterday he went 3 for 3 while Ken and I went 0 for 0. On a side note, it took Ken and I a few years before we landed three in one day. Ed is one of the most focused fishermen I know. He will fish all day and believes with equal intensity that he will catch a fish from his first cast to his last cast. I can honestly say I don't have that kind of faith in every cast, so I miss a few now and then because of it. Ed doesn't miss many.
Also the rod Ed is using in these pics is actually a noodle rod that is the equivalent of a 6 weight flyrod using the CENTS system so he uses it like a two handed flyrod and rolls very nice casts out there with it.
