Smile The way it should be this time of the year.

Today I had my annual post prostate cancer check up. Five and a half years cancer free. My doctor is a young Jewish fella. As we were finishing up, I told him that I hoped he and his family would have a good Hannukka. He thanked me and said his kids were really looking forward to it this year. He then wished me a Merry Christmas. Here we were, a Christian and Jew both respectful of each others beliefs, yet wishing each other the very best of the season. I felt so good, that I just had to share this.

    Merry Christmas! and Happy Hannukkah!

And that is how it should be. Remember in The United States we have freedom of religion not free from religion
Remember we all live down stream

    Default Thanks...

Those are the types of stories that I love to hear. It kind of makes you ponder what the world would be like if people just treated each other with the respect that we all deserve. It all starts with the small conversations like that one.
    Take care,

Congrats Dave, I believe the Cancer Society will log you in officially as a cancer survivor. There are more of us around than when we were children. Back almost 8 years ago I had a small cancer removed from my chest before we knew it was cancerous. The nurse ask about the beard I was sporting at the time and I explained I grew it for the Christmas program at our church. The doctor, a Muslim, then begin explaining how the birth of Christ was in the Koran while taking a couple of small filets out of my chest. The irony considering the world situation has stuck with me.

If you find yourself in Suwanee, GA on a Sunday drop in at Shadowbrook Baptist you'll be welcome and we will do our best to make you feel so. It's a couple of miles from the Chattahoochee River, there are several who will tell you where a few trout might be swimming.

Merry Christmas to everyone, and as Tiny Tim said "God bless us all!"

    Thumbs up

    Dave,
    Great post!
I agree that RESPECTING each other's faith & cultures is what it's all about. I have some VERY close Jewish friends, & we celebrate together. I love learning about different ways to celebrate this season.
BTW...Great talking to you last night!

... and the Peoples said, "AMEN!!!"
Trouts don't live in ugly places.

A friend is not who knows you the longest, but the one who came and never left your side.

Don't look back, we ain't goin' that way.
