Thread: Chico Creek Fishing Access

    Default Chico Creek Fishing Access

I spoke with Ray Frederick, of the Bremerton Pogie Club this evening. Representatives of his group meet with the property owner who posted the No Trespassing signs and worked out an arrangement with him. The Club, working with Sportsmen Warehouse will post No Littering signs and there will be trash receptables along the creek which will be emptied by the club.

The Chum run could happen any day now, and we
tip the FAOL hat to Ray and his group for keeping this important access open and available to all fishermen.

All fishermen should respect this, and not leave anything behind...except footprints.

LF- What's the word on the fish? I'm sort of free next week and am going chumming somewhere.

I've never fished Chico and have a rough idea where it is and thought it would be a good trip.

One last question: if I bring my boat (launch in Silverdale) are there any caveats besides the obvious? Or is this even a fishery where a boat would help (as in move me away to places not accessible to bankies)?

    thanks,

    Keith

We stopped to check out fish numbers this afternoon, we did see 2 which had made it up the culvert on the other side resting.

There were about a half-dozen anglers and one boat off shore.

The no traspassing signs are still up, I'm told they will come down Monday or Tues, but it is accessable now.

LF, JC-- Thanks for the replies. I'm glad to see that the fish aren't there yet...I'm usually available after the run is done.

I'll be on the Canal the first part of the week. I've got one spot where the chum just won't bite a fly, and I think that place is due for the herring under a float--espcially since many of the fish are fairly bright and some are exceedingly large.

I hope to head down your way toward the end of the week if my schedule stays the same.

    Keith
